Sowmya keshava temple



Sowmya keshva temple is located in Nagamangala taluk,Mandya district,135 kms from Bangalore.
This temple was constructed by Hoysala in 12 th century.


The temple is well constructed by having a 7 storey tower(Gopuram) at the entrance,ceiling of temple is carved magnificently with 108 shankus and four stone carved pillars.


Lord Kesava is worshiped here which is six feet tall ,we can also see Lord Krishna, Rahu being worshiped .

It is believed that  naga dosha (sin regarding to snake ) pariharam is done by the preists on specific day. This is one of the famous temple for its architecture in Nagamangala.

Its is protected by Archeological survey of India. Its worth visiting the temple for its glorious architecture.

The transport facilities are well equipped with Karnataka government buses or local buses. You can travel by yourself as roads are comfortable to drive safely and soothingly. The temple is easy to reach from the Nagamagala town's main bus stop.
