About the hills
It is suitated in the Yelandur and Kollegal taluks of Chamrajnagar district which is in southern east of Karnataka .
This place is known BRT sanctuary.
This hills is renowned for the temple of Lord Ranganatha which is suitated on highest peak of the hill range.
Though the journey takes quite time but after travelling 256 km from Bangalore one can enjoy the scenic beauty of the nature.
Tourists can see a rare champaka tree whose height is 43 m and trunk measures around 20 m, it is also known as Doddasampige.
After having Darshanam one can view glimpse of nature in a park which just beside the temple. We can also see the Soliga tribal people who still live around the temple even we can also see their lifestyle and attire but they modernized a bit.
One can enjoy the nature's beauty all along the journey. While travelling we can see green rice fields, tall coconut trees and sugar cane fields and many more variety of crops.
The speciality of the hills is that it is a home of variety of medicinal herbs,wild animals and citrus fruits especially oranges are mouth watering.
One can experience a smooth journey as the transport facilities are good and accommodation even trekking is available.
The Government of Karnataka is giving as much as care for the better improvement of the pilgrimage place and to improve the economy of the tribal people but due to mining activity the BR Hills , one among the western ghats may lose its luster.
